endless room

brad's other cool "party trick" after the drug dealers is the doorless room next to his shop. he showed me on monday when we went up onto the room. so today when i was there helping out with ty's lights on his polo, i went up and took this shot. thought it was pretty cool.

first roll from the ghetto cam

got the first roll developed from my diy double exposure camera, and im super amped. the dude at the lab said "they not very good" when i went to pick them up, but when i looked at them i was impressed. still gotta play around with blocking off one side of the lens per exposure, cos some of the shots have like a big dark unexposed area, but i guess it kinda adds to the effect. i like the grainyness of the 400 film aswell.

was waiting for brad to come fetch me to go to the halloween gig, so i took this shot, nothing amazing, but thought it turned out pretty cool

the highway collective's new toy

i was busy washing my car this afternoon, when i got this mms from jon:

a quick phone call confirmed that it was an R8, and it was parked in ty's (bicykiller) driveway. hmm, finish drying my car, or race over to ty...? not a very tough decision to make!

ty's family friend stu works for cars in action, and had this beast of a car for the weekend. he took us all for a drive around the area, and all i can say is DAMN, its bloody fast! and the sound of that V8 is amazing!


it was decided that the car needed a quick wash before a proper fotoshoot, so ty got stuck in...

unfortunately i couldnt go with to the fotoshoot spot, ty, brad and stu were goin to a friends house to watch the GP and ty was gonna do the shoot there. still amped that i got to go for a drive in the r8 and see it in the flesh, im pretty sure not too many people have had that oppurtunity yet!

new cameras

got 2 new cameras this weekend.

the first one is a polaroid 780. i put a thread up on the vw club forum asking if any1 had anold polaroid theyd be willing to sell, next day i found this beauty! R200. only thing is the film, bit pricey, but its not like im gonna go nuts and shoot off a full pack all at once.
the other camera is a pinhole iv been working on for the last 3 days or so. finally painted the inside of it black today, loaded it with film, and started playing around. gonna try finish the spool tomorrow with some test shots and get it developed on monday.

highway collective at zwartkops raceway

after the highway collective's first victory the other night at the drags at tarlton, it was decided that it was time to tear up the tarmac at the trackday at zwartkops. goin in a straightline proved to be of little difficulty for the the collectives fastest drag racer, stu, but what would happen when brad was faced with a slightly more winding course?

i hooked up with brad (hellchops), jon (the collective), and nic (neuk) just before 9am at the petrol station just up the road from my place. heading to zwartkops we spotted that fine piece of volkswagen enginering that you may have seen in todays "daily dub".

once at the track brad and nic got instructions about how and how not to drive during the drivers briefing. after the first set of cars went out onto the track, it was the highway collectives chance to show every1 what they were made of. jon hopped into the passenger seat of brad's caddy, and nic buckled himself into his "truck".
it was rad to watch all the daily drivers being thrown around the track. there were also some realy awesome track weapons on hand, such as this evo.

after the collectives first session, it was time to grab something to eat. "the king" watched over us while we ate...

another cool old car that the collective was cheering for each lap was this old merc. it was super slow, super old, and was smoking like a chimney, but we had to give respect to this old girl.

there was also a class for proper race cars. there were a couple of dubs in this group, including 2 polo cup cars, and an insanely fast stripped out mk5 GTI. was cool watching them blast around the track!
