2 from the races

went to tarlton lastnight with stu, quite a few of the VW boys were there. shot these 2 fotos, i really like them.

this is jared's 2L 16V Mk1, rolling on D90 porker rims, and his old colour coded BBS RS's up front for the racing. he managed a 14,5s run, which is pretty quick. i saw this crazy smoke from sum1 doin a burnout drifting over, and loved the way the lights were shining through it.


shot this 1 on the way home. stu wanted me to run some logs on the jetta, he was worried it was pulling timing on the ignition, so he wanted to check that out on the vag-com. u can see the laptop on my lap. i used my long orangutan arm to reach back behind us!

Super 14 - Lions vs Blues

saturday saw the Lions play the Blues at Ellis park. I went through to my buddy Starky's house for a braai in the afternoon, and then we all went to the stadium for the game at 7pm. wow, when they say the "upper east" stand, they really mean the UPPER east stand, we must have been about 7km from the feild! the lions lost 10-50...


every1 had something to say when i started zooming in on the lions dancing girls, mmm...

ok and then 2 pretty cheesy shots from after the game down on the feild...

lunar eclipse 21 feb

03:45am my alarm clock goes off, erg. its pretty cold outside, and im in my boxers and a hoody. why do we do this to ourselves? cos somebodies gotta be there to show the rest of the lazy, sleeping masses what they missed out on : p

i shot quite a few frames, but these 3 came out the best. as the nice red phase started, the moon moved behind some clouds, and then dipped below the treeline infront of my hosue, and that was the end of my eclipsing experience...

ringlight, just wish i didnt suck at PP so much : (

so i finally managed to fire off some test shots with the DIY ringlight (just for you wayne : p )
but it looks like ill be making a visit to my buddy jon's place some time SOON for some photoshop lessons, cos im still battling to get natural looking post processing work, just cant get a nice balance on the saturation and contrast : (

anyway, here are a few...

zwartkops track day

yesterday saw zwartkops open its gates for another 1 of their open track days. i caught a lift with my buddy nick, and we arrived there around 9:30. there was a pretty good turnout by that time, and after a short briefing from the track official, the cars hit the track.

there were a couple of really noteworthy cars there. R950k is alot of cash to drop on a car, and when the owner goes and stips its interior out and puts in a cage you gotta know he means business! M3 CSL...


our buddy Rob from DBN had just completed his mk2 race car, and after the first round of the silvercup racing series which he races in on the saturday, he came along to the track day to put in some track time...


another pretty badass car was this nissan 350Z. running the same kind of crazy front wheel camber that the production race cars do, this thing moved!!!


this TVR T350 had bit of an odd sound, almost like sneezing between gear shifts... ; ) what would you know, it had a huge turbo bolted to its motor!!!


and last but not least, the Noble M400, wow wat a tack beast! i waited quite a few laps to get this shot right, kept cutting either the front or the back of the car off. but after a little perseverance i managed to construct this shot, 1 of my favourites of the day : )
