pro tour at kyalami

today was the first round of the pro tour racing series. i met up with some of the vw guys, and we set up camp ontop of the "lonehill shopping centre" hill, right by turns 3 and 4. had a pretty cool day, and managed to get a few keepers. (as usual, click for bigger version)

i took a little drive/walk along to Yellowpages corner. while i was there one of the hectic fotog's came over and started chatting to me and offered me his Sigma 120-300 f2.8. damn wat a nice poece of glass!!! its huge and so damn heavy, was battling to hold it up. and compared to my 70-300, its like night and day in the AF department, its so quiet and fast. these next shots were shot with his lens...

i was so bummed when with this shot. i love it so much, but i cut the porsches ass off slightly, DOH! a little tar behind it would have made this 1 of my favourite of the day.

ok back to my Sigma 70-300...

the holiday is over...

hope everyone had a very festive season and a great new year : )

im back home now after a great 3 week holiday down in the western cape with my gf, lauren. spend most of the time in and around somerset west, with 5 nights spend in the old whaling town of hermanus.

19th of jan i flew out of jozi from OR Thambo International. the airport was pretty hectic being the festive season and all. arrived there really early because i caught a lift with a friends brother who was going to the airport to fetch his sister, so had a bit of time to kill.

was good to be with lauren again : )

chrsitmas day was spent at my sister house in melkbos. my folks were down and stayed with her, so we all had a great day.

self portrait after a great day on the beach

on the 29th of december we headed off to hermanus. we stayed at a self catering cottage called Robin's Nest. we did the typical touristy thing in hermanus and walked around taking in the sights

lauren took this of me, i better watch my back, she seems pretty handy with my canon...

this little dude lived at the guest house

on one of the days we headed through to Gansbaai, well known for its great white sharks and shark cage diving

cheers : )
